Felipe Goulart
Born on December 4, 2007, in Lages, Santa Catarina, Brazil, Felipe Goulart is a light-featherweight purple belt and one of the most promising talents of the new generation of Jiu-Jitsu athletes.
His journey in Jiu-Jitsu began at a small gym near his house, training with school friends purely for fun. Although he didnât come from a background in other sports, it didnât take long for Felipe to find his purpose on the mats.
The turning point of his career came when he made the life-changing decision to move to California to train under the guidance of the Mendes Brothers and alongside athletes like Tainan Dalpra. It was a bold moveâhe didnât speak English, didnât know anyone, and left behind family and friends in Brazil. But it was this leap of faith that marked the beginning of a new chapter. He describes it as a moment of fear and excitement, but one that made him feel alive and driven to chase greatness.
Known for his sharp and relentless guard game, Felipeâs signature technique is the K-guardâa position he began mastering as a green belt and continues to dominate with today in both gi and no-gi. Heâs used it successfully across every major tournament stage, including his performances in open-class divisions at the World Championships.
Some of Felipeâs top accomplishments include:Â
- 3x IBJJF World Champion (Blue & Purple Belt)
- 3x IBJJF Pan American Champion (Blue & Purple Belt)
- 2x IBJJF European Champion (Blue Belt)
- 4x IBJJF World No-Gi Champion (Blue Belt)
- 3x IBJJF Pan No-Gi Champion (Blue Belt)

For Felipe, a championâs mindset is defined by giving your absolute best every single day, no matter the circumstance.
