Guêtres pour hommes
BJJ spats (grappling spats, compression tights) are the base layer for no-gi jiu-jitsu. They protect your knees and shins from mat burn, stop your training partner's grips sliding on sweat, and keep your legs warm through a long session. Wear them under grappling shorts for no-gi, or under your gi pants in colder rooms.
The Kore Grappling Spats are full-coverage polyester/spandex compression, built to move with you through guard passes, triangles and scrambles. Women's fit: Kore Women's Grappling Spats.
How to pick spats for jiu-jitsu
- Fit: spats should feel snug, like a second skin. If they bunch behind the knee, size down.
- Competition: most no-gi rule sets, IBJJF included, require men to wear shorts over spats. Check your event's uniform rules before you register.
- Pair with a rash guard: add a BJJ rash guard for a full no-gi kit.
- Care: cold wash, hang dry. Tumble-drying wears out compression fabric faster.
